Great Northern Development Corporation (GNDC) received $14,000 in grant funding from No Kid Hungry to conduct a regional food study to further understand the challenges and opportunities in our region’s food system. With funding in part through the Eastern Plains Economic Development Corporation and the Montana Food & Ag Development Center, a variety of producers, businesses, and communities will be benefitted. This study will help establish community-driven strategies that will reduce food insecurity and increase economic development and diversification for our local food system. Counties that will be assessed for this study are Garfield, McCone, Valley, Daniels, Fallon, Sheridan, Roosevelt, Dawson, Prairie, Wibaux, and Carter.
