The Indian Equity Fund Small Business Grant is one of the most valuable — and underutilized — funding resources available to Native American business owners in Montana. It's designed specifically to help Native-owned startups and expanding businesses access grant funding that can be used as equity, filling a gap that traditional lending often can't.
Grants can be used for a range of business purposes, including purchasing equipment or developing new product lines. Up to $40,000 is available per tribal nation area, across eight tribal nation areas in Montana.

Eligibility

  • Native American business owners in Montana
  • Startups or expanding businesses
  • Funds used for legitimate business purposes

Byrdie Larsen - RedByrd Designs

“GNDC supported me through one-on-one technical assistance by helping clean up my business plan and guiding me through cash flow projections needed for the Indian Equity Grant, which gave me clarity and confidence to move forward. I would recommend GNDC because they offer hands-on guidance that makes the business side feel manageable and clear. “Their support helped turn my ideas into a solid plan and gave me the confidence to grow.”

Corey Ely Porcupine Quills Rēum - Rx Car Wash and More

“I am a retired law enforcement officer before this. We purchased our carwash and remodeled and renovated it three years ago. We now have two self-serve bays and a one-bay service station. We are now trying to expand into a bigger building to accommodate our customers' needs. The outcome gave us a much needed jump start assist. We are a success story and are currently looking to expand. And being hopeful to be awarded another grant to help us expand!”
